As we mark our 20th anniversary of supporting the transformation of our community through the arts, literacy, creative engagement, and ancestral knowledge, we are excited to be in a new home. Still in Sylmar and only a mile from our previous location, our new space is three times larger and allows us to do so much more with a greater impact on individuals and families.
In addition to this beautiful transition, in July Tia Chucha’s was one of among 15 organizations to receive a three-year grant, totaling $450,000, from the LA Arts Recovery Fund as part of the regional component of the America’s Cultural Treasures initiative. All awardees are long-standing self-identified Black, Latinx, Asian, and Indigenous arts and cultural organizations that have operated for 20 years or more in the Los Angeles region. We are honored to be recognized for who we are and what we do in the community.
We hope the community sees us with the same appreciation and for that reason we invite you to support us in matching this grant over the next three years, beginning with our end-of-year campaign goal of raising $75,000.
There are many ways to support Tia Chucha’s. We invite those who can to donate, buy from our bookstore, become a monthly donor as a Dream Maker, come to our events, and tell you family and friends about Tia Chucha’s!
Once again, thank you for your continuous support. Where would we be without you? We are here because of you!
