Lil' Readers Storyteller



The Lil’ Readers Storyteller will gain knowledge and first-hand experience regarding how a nonprofit arts organization with a small business component brings resources and access to an underserved community. Supervised by the Bookstore Manager, the Storyteller will be responsible for developing the program curriculum and facilitating in-person sessions at various community locations. The position will be approximately 3-4 hours a week from start to end of sessions scheduled. 


The preferred applicant will be knowledgeable in child development, children’s literature, and the outreach and programming of children’s services. Preferably English and Spanish communication skills and have an understanding of bilingual programming. Must be able to work independently and collaboratively with other staff members and agencies.  Be proactive, enthusiastic, resourceful, detail-oriented and mission-driven. Must be able to represent themselves and Tia Chucha’s with confidence.

The cultural center/bookstore provides a positive space for year-round on-site and off-site free or low-cost arts and literacy bilingual intergenerational program experiences.
