Maria Martinez, LCSW – Board Member

Maria Martinez is a Licensed Psychotherapist and the Founder and Clinical Director of Healing Blue Therapy, a group practice specializing in trauma treatment with a strong focus on serving the Latinx community. She earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California in 2008.

Before founding her private practice, Maria served as a program manager at Northridge Hospital for the Welcome Baby program—a grant-funded initiative supporting the health of pregnant and postpartum mothers. She also worked as a mental health clinician at Friends of the Family, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting families and underserved populations.

In addition to her clinical work, Maria provides ongoing consultation and mentorship to local organizations, contributing her expertise to strengthen community-based mental health services.

A proud refugee and immigrant, Maria crossed the U.S. border at age eight with her mother and baby sister, fleeing the civil war in El Salvador. Her lived experience continues to shape and fuel her passion for healing, advocacy, and culturally responsive care in her community.
