cultural arts series

Our multi-disciplinary arts education classes welcome youth, adults, and elders from the Norhteast San Fernando Valley to learn about themselves, their culture, and community through music, visual art, creative writing, and more. 

These Classes are offered as a series, occurring 1-2 times a week for 8-12 weeks. 

Our next series based workshops will begin in April, Spring 2024

MEET OUR TEACHING ARTISTS

  • How do I know if I have been approved for the class/workshop?
    Once your application has been reviewed and approved, you will be notified via email within 3-4 business days and asked to confirm your spot in the class(s). If you have not received an email, please contact Cecilia at cecilia@tiachucha.org
  • What are the eligibility requirements?
    Participants must be within the age range listed for each class. All are welcome to sign up for classes, but Northeast San Fernando Valley residents will be given priority: (Sylmar, San Fernando, Lake View Terrace, Pacoima, Arleta, Mission Hills, Granada Hills, North Hills, Van Nuys, Sun Valley, Sunland).
  • Are the classes free?
    Our Cultural Arts Series classes are free. Tía Chucha’s offers free-to-low cost classes and events through the support of our community. If you would like to make a donation to support you may do so here: Tía Chucha’s Centro Cultural | Kindful
  • How much do I donate?

  • Will materials be provided?
    Yes. Art materials will be provided for Visual Art Classes, instruments will be lent for our music classes, and ingredients will be distributed for our culinary class.
  • What if I am registered for the class and can no longer attend?
    If you are no longer able to attend, please notify cecilia@tiachucha.org at your earliest convenience. We appreciate your notice to allow others on the waitlist join the class.
  • I didn't make it into the class I wanted to join. When will the next one start?
    Tía Chucha's has seasonal classes and workshops every season (Winter, Spring, Summer, & Fall). Classes and workshops offered vary by season, but it is very likely the class you want to join will be offered again in the nearby future. To receive newsletter updates
