Mia Sanchez
Program Intern
Mia Sanchez (they/them) recently started at Tia Chucha’s in Summer 2025 as a Program Intern. They graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in May 2025, where they received a BA in Art Practice with a minor in Art History. They have had their artwork displayed in group exhibitions in UC Berkeley’s Worth Ryder Art Gallery such as “Between Now and Then” (2025). While at Berkeley, Mia worked at the Berkeley Art Center where they conducted archival research on the curatorial framing of “ethnic” exhibitions, analyzing how institutions frame identity representation and how they influence public engagement. With a passion for community engaged research, Mia also worked with an Oakland school to reimagine their school as a reimagined Community Resilience Hub. Mia was raised in the SFV and is passionate in working with their community, using art as a way to connect with others. In their down time, they enjoy playing guitar, going to local art events, and exploring nature.
